Fantasy constellations

Small book of metal "stars" made from nails hammered into black cloth background with pages bound together with simple silvery-glittery-sparkly cord.

USE IDEAS
Could be used by anyone to discuss and introduce the idea of constellations in general, or who also thinks it is fun to invent your own constellations from random arrangements of shiny objects. Could be used as a book for an RPG or LARP ingame library for everyone to discuss and invent whatever constellations work for your fantasy world, or save as a special book that only wizards or clerics have access to or can interpret, perhaps? Use as a clue or treasure for some sort of encounter?

SIZE
Book is approximately 5x5x3 inches. It's fairly heavy for the size, since it is made of wood.

PROCESS
I covered 5x5 sections of pressboard with black velvet (maybe velour? I'm not sure). Then I hammered small nails in random arrangement because I thought they would look like stars, and I was quite happy with the result. Discovered a problem - the nails stuck out the back. Cut off those pieces and used those long scraps to make the sunburst design on the front cover and the other smaller suns (novas? call 'em whatever you want) on the back page. Then added another covered board to each piece, to cover the leftover bit of nail, nothing is left sticking out.

Front cover & back page have nail cut-offs glued on with E-6000 adhesive.

It's a great book that I enjoyed making and I think will work great for a larp game, but I'm not trying to oversell it, either.
